aqueous copper sulphate solution(blue) gives
(i)a green ppt. with aqueous potassium flouride,and
(ii)a bright green solution with aqueous potassium chloride.
explain these experimental results.

Aqueous CuSO4 exists as [Cu(H2O)4]SO4. It is blue in colour due to the presence of
[Cu(H2O)4]2+ ions.
When aqueous potassium fluoride is added, a green precipitate of Copper (II) fluoride is formed:

When aqueous potassium chloride is added, a bright green coloured solution of [Cu(Cl)4]-2 ions formed:



In both these cases, the weak field ligand water is replaced by the F and Clions.
