Answer following questions when lead nitrate combine with potassium iodide:-
1) How do you come to know whether chemical reaction has taken place.
2) In the above reaction a yellow colour precipitate was formed. Identify and give chemical composition.
3) Write chemical equation involved in this reaction.

Expert Answer
1)Both the reactants KI and Pb(NO3)2 are colorless solutions.
When these solutions are poured together, a yellow colour lead iodide is the product formed which precipitates out of the solution.
2) Lead iodide(PbI) is yellow in colour which precipitates out.
3)2KI(aq) + Pb(NO3)2(aq) →2KNO3(aq) + PbI(s)
