answered-by-expert Expert Answer
(i) Total anti-clockwise moment = 150×40 = 6000 kgf-m
(ii) Total clockwise moment = 250×20 = 5000 kgf-m
(iii) Difference = 6000-5000 = 1000 kg-f
(iv) Aniticlockwise moment is greater than clockwise moment. Hence we need to add weight in the right side of centre O.
Let OC be the distance on right side of O so that 100 kg is suspended at point O.
then 100×OC = 1000 i.e. OC = 10 cm
