An object is hurled downwards with a speed of 10 m/s from a height of 200 m. Another object is thrown upwards with a speed of 40 m/s.   Find the position where they meet. Take a = .

The initial relative distance = 200 m
The initial relative velocity = 10 + 40 = 50 m/s
 Relative acceleration = 0 as both have an acceleration of  downward

In 4 seconds, the stone thrown upwards would cover a height of

= 160 - 80 = 80 m from the ground.
