Assuming that the grove is attached to a wheel which is free to move on a linear path:
revolutions made by wheel : 7 in 100 sec
thus angular velocity: 7(2pi)/100
radius of wheel: 12cm
thus linear displacement in wheel: 7(2pi)(12) = 527.78 cm
