(1) The experiment demonstrates that air, water and temperature are needed for germination of a seed.
(2) The bottom seed is completely immersed in water. The middle seed is half immersed in water and the top seed is completely out of water.
(3) The top seed does not germinate. The middle seed germinates. The bottom seed started germinating initially, but later stopped germination.
(4) The bottom seed does not get oxygen, so further growth gets stopped. The middle seed got all the conditions. So, it germinated. The top seed did not get water. So, it did not germinate.
