an electric field is uniform and in the positive x-direction for + x and is uniform with the same magnitude in negative x-direction for - x. E=200i^^ N/c for x>0 E=-200i^^N/c for x<0 a right circular cylinder of length 20 cm and radius 5cm has its centre at origin and its axis in negative x dirction, so that one face is 10cm and another face -10cm.what is the net output flux through each (1)flat surface (2)side of cylinder (3)net outward flux through cylinder (4)net charge inside cylinder

Electric flux φ at each flat surface is given by
Field E is uniform over the flat surface. Also field vector and area vector are parallel to each other.
 
Hence flux at each flat surface  = 200×π×5×5×10-4 = 0.5π Nm2C-1
 
No electric field perpendicular to curved surface of cylinder. Hence no outward flux through the curved surface of cylinder.
 
Net outward flux = 2×0.5π = π Nm2C-1
 
Net charge q inside cylinderis given by:  net outward flux of closed surface = q / ε0
 
Hence net charge q = π × ε0 = π × 8.854 × 10-12 C = 27.82 × 10-12 C
