An athlete completes two rounds of a circular track and returns to the starting point.What is the distance covered by the athelet and his displacement?

Distance covered = twice the circumference = 2×2πR = 4πR, where R is radius of circular track.
 
Displacement is zero because athelete has returned  to staring point.
