Expert Answer
In a recurring deposit, interest is calculated every month means we need to calculate compound interest compounded every month.
deposit amount every month = Rs.150
rate of interest = 8% per annum
hence amount after 8 months =
Let us use the approximation (1+x)n = 1+nx if x<<1.
Then Amount =
Amount = 150×[ 8 + (2/300)(8+7+6.........+2+1) ] = 150×[8+(2/300)(8×9/2)] = 150×8.24 = Rs.1236
