Moseley's law for frequency of X-ray is given by square root of nu space equals space square root of c R open parentheses fraction numerator 1 over denominator n subscript 1 superscript 2 end fraction space minus space fraction numerator 1 over denominator n subscript 2 superscript 2 end fraction close parentheses end root space open parentheses Z minus b close parentheses
for K-series b =1. for Kα  line n1 = 1 and n2 = 2 ; for Kβ  line n1 = 1 and n2 = 3.
 
For Kα line the slope is square root of c R 3 over 4 end root and for Kβ line the slope is square root of c R 8 over 9 end root
Hence the ratio of slope of Kβ line to that of Kα line is square root of 8 over 9 cross times 4 over 3 end root space equals space square root of 32 over 27 end root space equals space 1.089
