A wall 10 m long, 1 m broad and 4 m high is to be constructed with bricks 20 cm long, 10 m broad and 10 cm high. How many bricks are required?

volume of wall = 10×1×4  m3 = 40 m3
 
1 m3 = 100 cm × 100 cm × 100 cm = 10,00,000 cm3
 
Hence volume of wall in cm3 = 40×10,00,000 cm3
 
volume of single brick = 20×10×10 = 2000 cm3
 
Number of bricks required to construct the wall = ( 40 × 10,00,000 ) / 2000 = 20,000 bricks
