A Utube is partially filled with water.oil which doesnot mix with water, is next poured into oneside until water rises by 2.5cm on the other side.if the density of the oil is 0.8.the oil level will stand higher the water level by 6.25cm 12.5cm 31.35cm 20cm

When oil pour into the water, the level rises by x and the actual shift in the level of water is U-tube is 2x

Equating pressure at both side of tube,
