Let unit-place digit be x and tenth-place digit be y. then number is x+10y

Given : Number equals 4 times of sum of digits,   x+10y = 4(x+y)  or 3x-6y = 0  or x = 2y .......................(1)

Given: Number equals 3 times product of its digits,  x+10y = 3(xy)   ...................(2)

By substituting for x from eqn.(1) , eqn.(2) is written as,   12y = 6y2  or y = 2 hence x = 4

number is 20+4 = 24
