CBSE Class 12-science Answered

a source of sound and listner are approching each other with aspeed of 40m/s . the apparent fequency of note produced by the source is 400CPS. then ,its true frequency in cps is

The frequency ν observed by the observer is given by
begin mathsize 12px style nu space equals space nu subscript 0 open parentheses fraction numerator V space plus space V subscript O over denominator V plus V subscript s end fraction close parentheses space end style
where ν and ν0 are observed and true frequency respectively. V is speed of sound.
Vo and Vs are spped of observer and speed of source respectively.
 
In the given question Vo and Vs are same i.e., 40 m/s. Hence ν = ν0  . There is no frequency change
