a small ball is dropped from a height h onto a rigid frictionless plate at b and rebounds find the maximum height reached after rebound if the coffecient of restitution between the ball and the plate is e=0.75

velocity of the ball when it reaches from the height h to the plate is given by begin mathsize 12px style v space equals space square root of 2 g h end root end style
rebound velocity is e × v, where e is coefficient of restitution.
So the height it reaches after rebound is begin mathsize 12px style fraction numerator e squared v squared over denominator 2 g end fraction space equals space fraction numerator e squared 2 g h over denominator 2 g end fraction equals space e squared h space equals space 0.5625 cross times h end style
