If mass of rope is M kg and its length is L metre, then its linear mass density ρ = M/L kg/m
Let the point C is at a distance x from suspension point as shown in figure.
Tension at point C is due to mass of the length (L-x). Hence Tension at C = (L-x)×ρ×g = [ (L-x) / L ]×M×g
