A rectangular sheet of paper of length 40cm and breadth 22 cm is rolled along the breadth and the ends are joined together to form a cylinder. Find the lateral surface area and the total surface area of the cylinder

Expert Answer
lateral surface area = (base perimetre)×height = 22×40 = 880 sq.cm
since the cylinder is made by rolling paper, this is hollow cylinder on both side.
hence total surface area = 880 sq.cm
