A photograph of a house occupied an area of 1.75 sq.cm on a 35mm slide.The slide is projected on to a screen and the area of the house on the screen is 1.55 sq.m.What is the linear magnification of the projector-screen system?

Area of photograph ocupied on slide is  = 1.75 sq.cm 
 
Area of photograph occupied on screen is = 1.55 cm 
 
Thus, 
L i n e a r space m a g n i f i c a t i o n space equals space square root of fraction numerator 1.55 space over denominator 1.75 space cross times space 10 to the power of negative 4 end exponent end fraction end root therefore space L i n e a r space m a g n i f i c a t i o n space equals space 94.112 space
