A person is standing between two vertical cliffs and 480m from the nearest cliff shouts.He hears the first echo after 3s and the second echo 2s later .calculate:
1.The speed of sound .
2.the distance of the other cliff from the person.

Using concept of echo from sound
We know 2d = v×t
For the nearest cliff
2×480 = v× 2
=> v = 480 m/a
Velocity of sound = 480m/a
Distance of other cliff
2d =v×t
2d = 480 ×3
d = 720 m
