A particle is moving along northward direction with velocity V and changes its direction after certain time and move towards east with same speed. Find change in its velocity.

Asked by 27th July 2012, 5:41 PM
There isnt any change in the magnitude of the velocity just its direction changes by 90 degree.
Let the particle to move in possitive y direction and after change in elocity its direction will be in positive x direction
Thus using cartision coordinate system,
initial velocity, u = V j
final velocity, v = V i
change in velocity= v-u = V(i-j)
