Initially the particle start from rest and travel a distance S1 in 10 seconds with acceleration 2 m/s.
 
S1 = (1/2)×2×10×10 = 100 m
 
Then travelled a distance S2 with constant speed for 30 seconds
 
speed after 10 seconds = 2×10 = 20 m/s
 
S2 = 20×30 = 600 m
 
Then travelled a distance S3 and stopped  due to retardation 4 m/s2
 
S3 is obtained from 0 = 20×20-(2×4×S3); hence S3 = 50 m
 
total distance travelled S1+S2+S3 = 100+600+50 = 750 m
