(b)In Ostwald process, catalytic oxidation of ammonia is carried out.
(i)Name the product manufactured by this process.
(ii)What is the ratio in which the reactant mixture is taken?
(iii)Write down the reaction for the catalytic oxidation of ammonia.
(iv)Suggest one method to remove the yellow colour.
(v)Though pure acid is colourless, the sample prepared is slightly coloured,why?
(c) Write one use of each:
(i)Alcohol as a solvent.
(ii)Silver salt in photography

(ii)NH3 : Air = 1 : 10
(iii)4NH3 + 5O2 →4NO + 6H2O
(iv)By passing dry air.
(v)Decomposition of the acid produces nitrogen dioxide, which gets dissolved producing the colour.
(c)
(i)Medicines dissolve in ethanol.
(ii) To carry out chemical change on photographic plates.
