a motar car starts from rest and accelerate uniformly for 10s to a velocity of 30m/s it then runs at a constant speed and it is finally brought to rest in 80m in constant retardation total distane covered is 830m find the value of acceleration ,retardation,total time taken

Answer:
acceleration required to get final speed v=30 m/s in time t=10 s is obtained from " v = u+a×t " , with intial speed u =0;

acceleration a  = 30/10 = 3 m/s2

distance S1 travelled while accelerating, S1 = (1/2)a×t2 = (1/2)×3×10×10 = 150 m ..................(1)

retardation ar that is made to stop the car in a distance S3 = 80 m is obtained using " v2 = u2 - 2×ar ×S3 "
with final speed v = 0 and initial speed u = 30 m/s.

ar = (30×30)/(2×80) = 5.625 m/s2
time required to stop the car is obtained from " v = u - ar x t " with final speed v = 0;  time = 30/(5.625) = 5.3 s

distance S2 travelled with uniform speed = 830-(80+150) = 600 m ; time of travel with uniform speed = 600/30 = 20 s

total time = 10+20+5.3 = 35.3 s
