A metallic sheet is of the rectangular shape with dimensions 48 cm36 cm. From each one of its corner a square of 8 cm is cut off. An open box is made of the remaining sheet. Find the volume of the box.

Length of the box = 48 - 8 - 8 = 32 cm

Breadth of the box = 36 - 8 - 8 = 20 cm

Height = 8 cm

Volume of the box formed = l b h

= 32 20 8

= 5120 cm3
