The man spends 80% of his income Hence he saves 20% of his income. His income increased by 25% Let his present income be 125 His expenditure increased by 10% 10% 0f 80% = 8% Hence present expenditure is 80 + 8 =88% if the income is 125, the expenditure is 88 if the income is 100, the expenditure = 100/125 of 88 hence expenditure = 70.4% hence savings= 29.6% hence savings increased by 29.6 - 20 = 9.6%
