Expert Answer
lens formula :- ...............(1)
v = lens to image distance
u = lens to object distance = -10 cm (given value and sign convention is used)
f = focal length = 20 cm (given)
by substituting the values of u and f in eqn.(1), we get v = - 20 cm,
it means image also formed in the same side of lens where object is placed.
magnification = v/u = (-20)/(-10) = 2 , image is magnified, non-inverted(erect) and virtual.
Power of lens = 1/f , f expressed in m . hence power = 100/20 = +5
