A machine is given by a 200 kg mass falling at 8 m in 5 second lifts a load of 100 kg calculate the power input the machine if the efficiency of machine is 80% calculate the height of to which the load is raised in 5 seconds

velocity of falling mass 200 kg from a height 8 m is obtained using the formula " v2 = 2gh " , assuming falling from rest.
hence velocity v =
input power = force×velocity = 200×9.8×12.52 = 24.539 kW
80% of input power = output power = (m×g×h)/t
hence, 0.8×24.539×103 = (100×9.8×h)/5 ; we get h = 100.16 m
