A hot air balloon starts rising from ground with an acceleration 1.25m/second square. After 8 sec, a stone is dropped from the balloon. The balloon will- 
 
A)cover a distance of 40m before hitting the ground 
B) have a displacement pf 50m on hitting the ground
C)reach the ground in 4 seconds

Below are the steps to the solution.
- Use formula 
v=u+at
u=0 and substitute given value for acceleration and time.
- Find 'v'
-Find 's' using 
v2  = u2  + 2as
- Using 's' and taking 'v' as 'u' and assuming a= 10 m/s2 
in the formula
s=ut+ 1/2 at2  
you will get the answer as t=4 seconds.
