a given length of a wire is doubled of itself and this process is repeated once again. by what factor does the resistence of the wire changes

The resistance of the conductor is given by R = (ρ×l)/A
Where ρ is the resistivity of the material,  l is the length of the conductor and A is the cross sectional area
As we can see here the resisof the wire is directly proportional to the length so if we increase the length then  the resistance of the conductor will also increase 
In question it is given the length of the wire is increased two times 
The new length of the wire will be 2×2×l = 4l
Since length has increased by four times the resistance will also increase by four times 
So new resistance  = 4R
