(a) An isotope of cobalt Co - 60 is used in the treatment of cancer.

(b) (i) cation = B (no. of protons > no. of electrons)

     (ii) anion = A (no. of electrons > no. of protons)

     (iii) a pair of isotopes = D and E (same atomic no. but different mass no.)

     (iv) an atom of noble gas = C (8 electrons in valence shell)
