After 12 years, he will be twice as old as his son. Find present ages of
father and son.

Expert Answer
Let age of son = x yrs.
Age of father = 3x yrs.
After 12 years:
3x + 12 = 2(x + 12)
3x + 12 = 2x + 24
x = 12
Age of son = x = 12 yrs
Age of father = 3x = 3 12 = 36 yrs
