Elections are the corner stones of democracy. It is during elections that people elect their own government. The first challenge before a democratic country is to hold free and fair elections where people can vote for their candidates without any fear.

Secondly, during elections, if people are dissatisfied with the existing candidate, they can vote for other candidate. Thus, the real test of democracy takes place during the time of elections. A real and a true democracy qualifies its own test during the elections.
