Expert Answer
Let CP of first scooter = x
SP of first scooter = x + 6%of x = x + 0.06x = 1.06x
CP of second scooter = 24000 - x
SP of first scooter = x + 6%of x = x + 0.06x = 1.06x
CP of second scooter = 24000 - x
SP of second scooter = (24000 - x) - 12% of (24000 - x)
= 24000 - x - 2880 + 0.12x
= 21120 - 0.88x
SP of both scooters = CP of both scooters
1.06x + 21120 - 0.88x = 24000
0.18x = 2880
x = 16000
So CP of scooters is 16000 and 8000
