Answer:
A reaction which absorbs energy from the surroundings is called as an endothermic reaction.
It requires energy (in the form of heat, light etc) to proceed are known as endothermic reactions.
For example, when the water is added to a test tube containing ammonium chloride, the test tube becomes cold. This reaction is an endothermic reaction.
Thus a chemical reaction which requires heat is an endothermic reaction.
