A can has the greatest capacity for a fixed amount of metal if its diameter is made equal to its height. If such a can is to hold 6280 cm3, calculate its diameter.(use π = 3.14)

Given: Volume of the can (V) = 6280 cm3

Let Diameter = height = 2 x

⇒ Radius = x

Let V denote the greatest capacity of the can.

     

Thus, radius= 10 cm diameter= 2 x= 20 cm
