CBSE Class 9 Answered
(a) Percentage of solution = 5
Mass of solution = 250g
Percentage of solution = Mass of solute / Mass of solution x 100
= Mass of solute / 250 x 100
= 5 x 250 / 100
= 12.5g
(b) Dispersed phase - the solute like component in a colloid form the dispersed phase.
Dispersed medium - the component in which the dispersed phase is suspended is the dispersed medium
OR
(a) Mass of solute = 36 g
Mass of solvent = 100g
Mass of solution = 100 + 36
= 136g
Concentration of solution = (Mass of solute / Mass of solution ) x 100
= (36/136) x 100
= 26.47%
(b) If temperature increases, solubility increases and if temperature decreases, solubility decreases.
(c) Because particle size is bigger in suspensions hence it is easier to distinguish the particles of solute.
