Retardation a is obtained from the formula " v2 = u2 - 2×a×S " with final speed v = 0.
retardation a = u2 / (2S) = (300×300)/(2×5×10-2) = 9×105 m/s2
Resistive Force = mass × retardation = 2×10-3×9×105 = 1800 N
Workdone = Force×distance = 1800×5×10-2 = 90 J
Change in Kinetic Energy = (1/2)×m×u2 = (1/2)×2×300×300 = 90 J
