displacement S of a body after t seconds starting from rest and moving with acceleration a is given by, S = (1/2)at2
 
Hence displacement in x-direction after 4 s :- (1/2)×6×4×4 = 48 m
Hence displacement in y-direction after 4 s :- (1/2)×8×4×4 = 64 m
 
Distance from origin after 4 s = begin mathsize 12px style square root of 48 squared plus 64 squared end root space equals space 80 space m end style
