answered-by-expert Expert Answer
maximum vertical displacement of vertically projected body is determined from the equation of motion

" v2 = u2 - ( 2 g h ) "

where v is final velocity that is zero at maximum height h , u is intial projection speed
and g is acceleration due to gravity

hence maximum height , h = vo2 / ( 2 g )

Time t to reach maximum height is determined from the equation of motion

" v = u - ( g t ) "

t = vo / g
