A biconvex lens made of  a transparent medium of n=1.5 is immetrsed in a medium of n=1.33.will the lens behave converging or diverging?give reason.

Since the Biconvex lens is placed in another medium of μ = 1.33, the effective refractive index of medium of lens is 1.5/1.33 = 1.128.
Since effective refractive index > 1, this Biconvex lens will behave like converging lens
