a balloon is inflanted and released, does it fly forward as the air escape?

Let us assume, at some time, ballon filled with air is at rest, hence momentum is zero.
when air escapes through the small opening of balloon, the air comes out with speed, hence with momentum.
To conserve total momentum of the system consisting of balloon+air, balloon gains momentum in opposite direction.
Hence the balloon moves forward
