Dear student,
 
Just before hitting the gorund,
 
PE = KE
 
mgh = 1/2 m v^2
 
gh = 1/2
 
9.8 X 32 = 1/2 v^2
 
v^2 = 627.2
v = 25.04 m/s
 
S = d/t
25.04 = 32/t
t = 1.3 sec approx.
