A ball is thrown vertically upwards with a velocity of 49m/s calculate maximum hieght and time taken

The formula to be used to get maximum height is " v2 = u2 -2gh ", where v is final velocity
that is zero here when the ball reaches maximum height h. u is initial projection velocity.
 
hence we have, 0 = 492 -2×9.8×h  or h = 122.5 m
 
The formula to be used to get time to reach maximum height is " v = u - gt " ,
since v = 0 as mentioned above, we have t = u/g = 49/9.8 = 5 s
