Expert Answer
Maximum height reached by the ball that is thrown vertically upwards is detrmined by the
equation of motion " v = u2 + (2 a h ) "
where v = 0 is final velocity becuse when the reaches maximum height h, its velocity becomes zero ,
u = 49 m/s is initial velocity and a = -g = -9.8 m/s2 is acceleration due to gravity
Hence we get , u2 = 2g h
h = u2 / 2g = ( 49 × 49 ) / ( 2 × 9.8 ) = 122.5 m
