A ball is placed near the periphery of a merry go round and is tied in its centre. Merry go round is rotating about an axis passing through its centre. [4 marks] 1.) what will be your observation when you are standing outside the merry go round?  Explain it.  2.) what will be your observation when you are standing at the centre of the merry go round?  Explain it.

1. Since the observer is at earth so it will be in absolute rest(why?). So it will observe that ball is executing circular motion having center at axis of marry go round.
2. Now when observer is on the marry go round then he/she will feel itself at rest and observe that earth is moving around him/her. And since observer angular velocity is same as the ball or you can say observer is observing from inertial frame of reference ball will appear at rest.
