(b) (i) What is the function of caustic soda in flask A?       (ii) What change will be noticed in limewater in flask B and flask D?

(b) (i) Caustic soda in flask A absorbs CO2 from the incoming air.

    (ii) The limewater in flask B remains clear as caustic soda absorbs all CO2 in flask A itself.

    Limewater in flask D turns milky showing that the seeds produce CO2 during respiration

    in flask C.
