(a) Velocity ratio = number of pulleys = 4
 
(b) energy transfered by man = Force×distance = 40×4 = 160 J ( To raise the load by 1 m, effort has to move 4 m because veleocity ratio = 4)
 
(c) Potential energy transfered to load = load weight×distance = 10×9.8×1 = 98 J
 
(d) efficiency = 98/160 = .6125 = 61.25%
