CBSE Class 9 Answered
Why ball is bouncing back but stone is not?
Asked by sansu.xaviermushahary | 11 Mar, 2016, 09:02: PM
Expert Answer
A ball bounces back because of elasticity. A ball has large elasticity whereas the stone has negligible elasticity because of its rigid nature.
When ball touches the ground, it compresses and the elasticity causes a push in the upward direction.
The same for the stone does not happen.
