What volume of hydrogen will be liberated at NTP by reaction of Zinc on 50 ml dilute sulphuric acid ( specific gravity = 1.8 and having purity of 40%)?

Zn + H2SO4 → ZnSO4 + H2 ↑

Normality of H2SO4 ,
purity % X sp. gravity X 10
N = ----------------------------------
Eq. wt. of H2SO4
40 X 1.8 X 10
N=------------------ = 7.35 N

i.e., 1 L of H2SO4 contains = 7.35 gm of H2SO4
7.35 X 50
50 ml of H2SO4 contains = ----------- = 0.3675 g of H2SO4

According to the reaction,
1gm equivalent of H2SO4 will librate 1gm of H2
So, 0.3675 gm of H2SO4 will librate 0.3675 g of H2 = 0.3675 X 22.4
------------------ = 4.116 g of H2 at NTP
