Solution for your first query,
 
Chemical test to distinguish between ethanol and ethanoic acid,
Ethanoic acid changes the colour of blue litmus to red while ethanol does not.
Also, ethanoic acid reacts with sodium bicarbonate to give effervescence due to production of carbon dioxide gas.
Ethanol does not give this test.
